Sleeping bag, a large bag for clothes, a small backpack for the day, walking shoes, sneakers, sandals for bivouac, fleece, personal medicines, a water bottle (1 liter or 2 liters), Water purification tablets, sunscreen, a pair of sunglasses, cap, camera, a torch (head), spare batteries.

Know before you go:

Trekking in Morocco: it is also the school of tolerance, it means respecting certain customs which may surprise you, just as some of our habits could surprise our hosts. The right way to behave is to accept and comply with local customs, not to criticize or judge, not to enter certain religious places without having been invited. During your trek in Morocco, we explain all these values to you and give you the keys that will allow you to better understand the customs, traditions and ways of life of these people.

Fitness Requirements You must be confident in your physical fitness and endurance. The main recommendation is a sense of adventure! There is no age limit provided you are physically fit, aware of the rigors of trekking at altitude and have appropriate travel insurance. Please let us know (discreetly if you wish) if you have a medical condition/allergy or are taking any medications that you think we should be aware of. We're here to have a good time and we want you to feel comfortable in your surroundings.

Accommodation in "house" villages called gîtes with kitchens, sleeping areas and showers, or dome tents or, Morocco being one of the few regions in the world where warm temperatures combine with the absence of insects, you can sleep under the stars. Nothing can compare to a night under the brilliant light of the North African stars. Tents, mattresses, fully equipped kitchen, food and personal luggage are transported by mules.

You only carry a backpack for your water, snacks, camera and clothes. We have a limited number of sleeping bags available in our store, so you may need to bring your own.

All food is included in the trek and is very healthy including couscous, tagine, fresh eggs, fish, olives, nuts and fruit. Please let us know if you are vegetarian. Apart from eggs and fish (tuna and sardines) often served at lunchtime with a vegetable salad, there is not much meat and when meat is available, separate dishes such as vegetarian tagine are prepared .

Bottled water is usually available for purchase in the villages you pass through, but you may need to use your own method to purify the water (on some of our treks we can include this at a small additional cost) .

Some people like to bring their own treats and supplements if they have special dietary needs. If you like to drink herbal teas, bring your own. Moroccan tea tends to be a real energy booster with green powder mixed with copious amounts of sugar (refreshing and delicious!). Tea without sugar can be requested.

When we trek in high mountains, geological variations create a range of climatic conditions, meaning it can be cold, wet and windy. Bring a warm fleece, a light windbreaker and long pants. During the day, temperatures are relatively warm to warm, and normal attire with t-shirts and shorts is suitable. On average, you can expect daytime temperatures of 20 to 30+ degrees Celsius.

the ideal time to explore the Saghro massif is at p

from October until the end of June.
